Lunar Eclipse in Scorpio:  The Karmic Purge

The second Eclipse of 2022 is happening at 25 degrees of the fixed water sign of Scorpio on May 16.

Eclipses are powerful celestial events that very often bring about unavoidable karmic circumstances and relationships.

Lunar Eclipse is a powerful lunation that always takes place on a Full Moon.

It is considered to be three times more potent than a regular Full Moon because it’s happening in close proximity to the Lunar Nodes of Destiny.

Lunar Eclipse in Scorpio

Scorpio, when in its shadow, is the darkest, deepest sign of the Zodiac.

Scorpio is ruled by Pluto and co-ruled by Mars.

Both planets carry some pretty heavy shadow energies.

If not managed consciously, these shadow energies can manifest on the material plane through power struggles, aggressive self-expression, manipulation and over-powering desire to control and dominate.

The highest vibration of Scorpio is that of the ultimate healer and psychic.

Some of the most profound and supernaturally gifted psychics and healers I’ve ever met in my life had some pretty heavy Scorpio placements in their charts.

Long story short, the South Node in Scorpio is some pretty major baggage.

Scorpio is also a sign that rules over sexuality and deep intimacy.

We are going to be asked to let go of any unresolved intimacy issues, unhealed trauma, and past betrayal. So we can create a greater sense of self-confidence and self-worth to move towards the North Node of destiny in Taurus.

The Taurus – Scorpio axis is the financial axis of the Zodiac.

At the collective level, we could witness some major shifts in the economics, banking systems, financial resources, currencies distribution,  etc.

The Cosmic Weather Report

This is a much heavier Eclipse than the partial Solar Eclipse in Taurus we’ve just had back in April.

Mars, the co-ruler of this Eclipse, is in Pisces getting close to its conjunction with foggy Neptune.

The God of War is confused and disoriented in this mutable water sign.

Its closeness to Neptune makes it even harder to focus and act in a structured, logical fashion.

This powerful Eclipse is forming a tense T-square with the Lord of Karma Saturn.

Both the Moon and the Sun as well as the Lunar Nodes are squaring off with Saturn.

Those with fixed signs placements (Taurus, Scorpio, Leo & Aquarius) in their charts will feel this draining power struggle the most.

This energy is harsh and heavy. It screams of rising tensions and restrictions that are getting tighter and becoming literally unbearable.

There is a strong need to purge what’s no longer serving our highest good, both on a personal and collective level.

There is so much pressure on every single one of us, it seems virtually impossible to hold on to everything.

Letting go is the key theme of this powerful lunation.

The ruler of this lunation, Pluto is in retrograde at 28 degrees of Capricorn at the time of the Eclipse.

It’s forming a supportive sextile with the Moon, signaling that the past Karma returns to course correct the future.

To make matters worse, the Moon is forming an almost exact opposition to the notorious fixed star Algol.

Algol (Medusa’s head) is associated with violence, beheadings, losing one’s mind (literally and figuratively) and has been historically linked to disastrous, catastrophic events.

This long feared fixed star was activated by conjunction to the North Node of Destiny in Taurus at the very start of certain events in Eastern Europe at the end of February this year.

One thing is for sure – this Eclipse is a culmination point of all the tensions we’ve been witnessing on the world’s stage for the past few months and even years.

Your Sun sign (related to the day you were born) might be an important component of your identity, but it’s only a small fraction of the whole story. Very often, your Ascendant (or Rising sign) is the most accurate representation of you as an individual, as it rules your first house of the self and therefore has the biggest impact on your personal horoscope.
