Five Things to Know about the Last Full Moon of 2021

Full Moon in Gemini – the Final Chapter

The Moon constantly passes through the cycle of growth and decline, and the phases of the Moon are different parts of this never-ending cycle. They are much more than just astronomical phenomena; they have deep symbolic meaning. Understanding each stage of the moon cycle can help guide us on our journey of personal growth and development.

The Full Moon represents completion, the peak of manifestation of the intentions you set at the time of the New Moon. It’s the time to celebrate your growth and the progress you’ve made so far. Take a moment to sit still and reflect on how far you’ve come. The Full Moon can also illuminate what has gone wrong on your way to achieving a desirable outcome. It can be a painful but necessary realisation. Don’t blame yourself for the things that went wrong. Analyse, thoroughly examine the situation, learn from your mistakes, and move on. Remember, at the end of the day it’s all about the journey not the destination

This Full Moon is not only the last Full Moon of 2021, but it is also closing the Gemini – Sagittarius Eclipse series. This is the final lunation when the Nodes of the Moon are still in Gemini and Sagittarius until January 18, 2022 when they shift into Taurus and Scorpio for good.

It’s time to review and reflect on what has been achieved in the past year and a half.

Which lessons did you learn? How did your life change since the summer of 2020?

Take a moment to reflect on your journey.

Why Is It Called ‘the Cold Moon’?

Traditionally, names for the full and new Moons during the year were used to keep track of the seasons. According to The Old Farmer’s Almanac, the moon names come from Native American, Colonial American, or other traditional North American sources passed down through generations.

The name ‘Cold Moon’ is associated with the time of the year when the weather gets colder and the nights get longer. The Cold Full Moon occurs in December, traditionally known as one of the coldest times of the year in the Northern Hemisphere.

This Full Moon, happening at 11:35 p.m. EST on December 18, brings abundance of positive energy and optimistic, festive vibes thanks to a harmonious trine it is forming with the planet of luck and good fortune, Jupiter. The greater benefic Jupiter is offering us a much needed glimpse of hope after a turbulent year of trials and tribulations. This is probably one of the jolliest Full Moons we’ve had in a while.

However, be mindful of your alcohol consumption to ensure you are not overdoing it during festive activities.

Who Will This Last Full Moon of 2021 Affect the Most?
